What it may help with

The benefits of Scream Cream

Scream Cream combines aminophylline and L-arginine in a cream you apply before intimacy. If your provider prescribes it, here is what it brings:

  • Blood flow support

L-arginine is a building block of nitric oxide, which helps blood vessels relax.

  • Arousal response

May support arousal and sensitivity where the cream is applied.

  • On your timing

Applied shortly before intimacy, not swallowed.

Individual results vary. Benefits are not guaranteed and depend on your provider's evaluation and your plan. Evidence for this off-label use is limited.

Why it matters

Changes in arousal are worth talking about

Many women notice changes in arousal or sensation at some point, often alongside stress, certain medicines, childbirth or the hormonal shifts around menopause.

Women often describe:

  • Less pleasure during intimacy
  • Taking longer to feel aroused
  • Less sensation
  • Strain in the relationship

A licensed provider looks at the whole picture with you and decides whether Scream Cream, or another option, may be appropriate.

Understanding Scream Cream

What to know first.

Regulatory status

Not FDA-approved for any use. Scream Cream is a compounded preparation; the FDA has not reviewed it for safety, effectiveness or quality, and it is not a generic version of, or equivalent to, any approved product. A licensed provider reviews your health history, current medicines and concerns, explains what is and is not known, and decides whether it may be appropriate for you.

How it works

Scream Cream is applied to the skin of the external genital area shortly before intimacy, as your provider directs. Its usual base combines aminophylline, a medicine that relaxes smooth muscle, with L-arginine, an amino acid the body uses to make nitric oxide, which helps blood vessels relax. The idea is to support local blood flow and sensation where the cream is applied. Evidence for this use is limited, whether it helps varies from person to person, and your pharmacy label gives the exact ingredients and directions.

Who it may be for

A provider may consider Scream Cream for some adult women who describe reduced arousal or sensation, after looking at other possible causes such as medicines, hormonal changes, mood or relationship factors. It is not for anyone allergic to aminophylline, theophylline, L-arginine or any ingredient in the preparation, and it should not be applied to broken or irritated skin. Tell your provider if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your provider decides.

Off-label use. Aminophylline is FDA-approved only as an injection for breathing conditions, and no topical aminophylline or L-arginine product is FDA-approved for sexual arousal; using this cream for arousal is a compounded, off-label use decided by your provider.
